JoF is a marketing tool that has many potential spin-offs such as business profiles being picked up by national magazines and visiting journalists. How will they know you are part of the program if members are not using the logo? JoF membership provides easy access to other areas of Council activity such as tourism promotions and special events.

This contributes to the health of all sectors of the local economy, increasing the local quality of life. It’s a way of investing in the region – you simultaneously create jobs. By promoting other JoF businesses you will get to know your neighbours. Supporting local businesses will help support our community. The local business down the road is probably owned by a local family or employs members of local families. Promoting JoF means you support these families which has flow on affects for local schools, sporting clubs, churches and social groups.
By growing the Journey of Flavour program and the number of businesses involved there is a high likelihood that more local events will be developed that incorporate a quality food and wine experience. Promoting JoF in your advertising will ensure readers look out for, and do their business at JoF endorsed businesses. The more the logo is seen, the greater the public awareness, the more powerful the brand becomes and the more likely customers will search out the logo. Promoting our region as a premier food and wine destination will attract food and wine customers from outside the region.

JoF provides an opportunity to meet with other like minded businesses. For example, JoF Industry Development Nights are organised every 6 months and are aimed at linking the food and wine networks including growers, producers, restaurants, cafes, breweries, wineries and providores.

Customers like to know they are buying quality local products. Food grown in our own community is usually picked within the past day or two. It’s crisp, sweet, and loaded with flavour. Locally grown food, purchased soon after harvest, retains its nutrients. JoF promotes attributes such as healthy eating, nutrition, freshness, fine food and wine and supporting local businesses. These attributes are highly valued by consumers.
JoF members have been independently judged as having a high level of quality products and services and have demonstrated a commitment to engage local suppliers. This gives them another source of competitive advantage. Without promoting such efforts, their achievements remain unknown. Champion members that promote JoF are rewarded at trade nights among like-minded peers.
